Strix Group PLC (LON:KETL) said its manufacturing operations in southern China have experienced only “minimal impact” from the coronavirus outbreak.
The kettle safety controls maker’s factory near Guangzhou reopened on 10 February, only a week late after the new year holiday, with two-thirds of the workforce having so far returned to work.
Strix said this was “sufficient” to fulfil customer commitments for February and it was now focussed on securing deliveries for March and April.
So far, the “majority” of its original equipment manufacturer clients have either resumed production or are expected to soon, with Strix saying that some customers have increased order sizes due to disruption elsewhere in their supply chain.
It said there were “no immediate concerns” about its own supply chain as more than 80% of suppliers are based in a same area near Guangzhou and were able to restart production last week.
“The company will continue to work with local government departments to ensure that all precautionary measures are in place to provide a safe and healthy working environment,” Strix said, adding that various precautions have been established including a disinfection facility using disinfection technology developed by HaloSource, its most recent acquisition.
Strix shares were up almost 8% to 185.19p on Wednesday morning.
