Quadrise Fuels International PLC (LON:QFI) has shared with investors the findings of a whitepaper detailing the potential economic and environmental benefits of implementing the company’s MSAR technology in the Americas.
Key highlights of the report includes the view that the group’s technology enables production of a proprietary oil-in-water emulsion fuel oil that reduces energy costs for consumers and improves refinery profitability and yields.

“Following the publication of our Middle East whitepaper, we are pleased to highlight the economic and environmental benefits of MSAR in the Americas, another market where we see significant potential for our technology,” said Mike Kirk, Quadrise chairman in a statement.

According to the report, MSAR is the most cost-effective and cleanest refinery residue upgrading technology. It adds that the technology delivers significant environmental benefits with a 30% reduction in NOx emissions and 50% lower ash emissions, with further potential to reduce CO2 by 20%
Using MSAR in refineries and power generation facilities in key regions such as Ecuador and Mexico can deliver cost savings of US$100mln per year per refinery, the report highlighted, whilst benefiting the population and environment through lower emissions.
The paper also noted strong synergies with metals recovery from ash – including vanadium, a critical component for the manufacture and deployment of renewable energy storage batteries.
“The nations of the Americas are on the cusp of the fast-growing energy transition seen in other parts of the world. However, oil will continue to be a major source of energy production in the region for a significant period,” Kirk said.
He added: “By adopting technologies such as MSAR, that can be implemented rapidly and deliver significant financial benefits and improved environmental benefits, a sustainable pathway to renewables for the region can be created.”
