The soaring cost of gas has claimed another victim as energy supplier Daligas announced that it is no longer able to stay in business.

“From the 14th of October 2021, due to the unprecedented energy market conditions, the record high wholesale prices and the current energy cap set by the industry regulator Ofgem, we are unable to keep our team and business operating,” Daligas said in a statement.

Daligas supplies energy to around 9,000 households and businesses and they will now be moved to other energy suppliers by Ofgem.

Centrica PLC (LSE:CNA) (LSE:CNA)’s British Gas, EDF Energy and Octopus Energy have been selected to pick up the households and businesses left behind.

Yesterday saw the demise of Pure Planet and Colorado Energy, which followed the collapse of nine energy suppliers in September.
